Looking back on the Swiss Championships in Horgen:

In view of the Worlds 2002 this year the championships were larger than ever before, roughly 250 participants.  The pre given time plan and sequence of events were very well adhered to thanks to good planning and assistance from all involved, from the Jury, helpers, the good discipline of the dancers, to the crew of Schizenhof   Just as with other years there was a good atmosphere and mood with the public as well as fairness amongst the participants which felt itself on the stage.  It was wonderful to experience how each person was spurred on and supported no matter which country they came and danced from.

The dance floor and dance floor etiquette was mostly well respected and used from both line and couple dancers.  This was surely due to the DJ’s, who again and again drew one’s attention to the fact that we had to share the existing dance floor.  There was also a good mix of couple and line dancing, country and non-country music.  The workshops were well attended and there also everything was well organised.

We would like to thank the helpers for the enormous involvement during the whole weekend.  We would not be able to have such an event without the help of the many volunteers who register do to different tasks .  Thanks also to the participants and the visitors for the support that we have had through them.

We know that there is more work to be done on the presentation ceremony, which with 100 dancers did not run as smoothly as last year.  There was some uncertainty and several place panels must still be backordered.  However it was important to us, that we did not distribute something wrong and then have even greater problems.

We are already looking for a large enough hall with enough side rooms, as well as a hotel and parking place in the vicinity.  If you have an idea, please contact us.

Owing to the application of Eva Schlierenzauer we can publish now all ranks.
